Nate Baker was a hero with a heart for service and kindness. He made strangers feel like friends he hadn't met yet. His help was quiet and sincere; he gave friends rides, helped people move, and even just help manage the craziness of life. Nate passed away unexpectedly at 21, and only after he was gone did the full picture emerge: hundreds of small, selfless acts that he never once talked about, because it was never about him. Nate was a University of South Carolina Gamecock, member of the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity, and most of all a friend to everyone he met. This collection celebrates and memorizes Nate's life and his time at UofSC.

The NATE Foundation exists because grief is real, confusing, and too often avoided — especially when a young life ends without warning. Founded in the wake of Nate's passing, the foundation helps schools, students, families, and communities navigate the kind of loss that knocks the air out of a room. Just as Nate showed up for others without hesitation, the foundation shows up with support, resources, and hope. It's not just a memorial — it's a mission to make sure no one has to grieve alone.
